Looking forward to the New Year!

Another year has come and gone (gone to the dogs so to speak!). We have had a wonderful year with our dogs, competing in several dog shows and matches. I am busy training our new black girl and planning for our next upcoming litters that will be due in the spring. We are retiring some of our older gals, and hope to keep a pup or two to raise. We are grateful our pups have gone to some wonderful, loving homes and hope to continue hearing on how they are doing!

Christmas time!

It has been awhile since I posted due to lots of activity going on at Kelsey Labradors!! I am in the process of training our new black blur- who is quite the handful! I tried to get new photos of the gang, but that proved almost impossible with the young black pup wanting all the rest to chase her and play while they were supposed to be sitting down posing nicely!!

With this Christmas season, I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, full of fun and adventures with your best lab friend!

Black blur

Things are settling down after the dog show. We have found out our new addition likes to butt tuck around the house, not come when called and steal pillows off the couch! So we are busy working on training her house manners!

Dog Show results

Well, another hectic 4 day dog show over! Alot of work, but the fun is in the showing!
Mr. Whtye did better his second day showing, Luke did a great job but the buzz is all about our new black pup! It has been a long time since I have had blacks, but boy is this one nice! My good friend Jackie from New Mexico brought her in from Colorado for me. She beat her sister the first day, second day she just couldn't keep 4 on the floor, but by the third day, she was gaiting around the ring like a pro! Everyone kept reminding me how cute she was, stopping to scratch and when she grabbed her ribbon from the judge!

Getting Ready for the Dog Show

Today is bath day for most of the dogs going to the show. We do have a token petit who will also be groomed each day of the show. This involves bathing and blow drying. The labs are pretty easy to spruce up. A good bath and blow dry is usually all that is needed with this wash and wear breed! Now to make a list of everything to go to the show!

Lab Puppies

Puppies from previous litters

Our puppies are raised in the house, and exposed to all sorts of noises, kids, other animals and different types of surfaces. These include carpet, grass, flooring, cement, dirt and gravel. We feed a high quality kibble plus fresh goat's milk, fresh eggs and meat for a great start in life.

Dog Show November 13-16, 2009

Here is my daughter Nicole showing Mr. Whyte at one of the all breed dog shows.

The Boys at Kelsey Labradors, Luke and Mr. Whyte

No pups on the way!

For some reason our girls decided not to have pups. The sires were selected based on excellent pedigrees, health clearances and conformation. One was from Washington, the other shipped in from Pa. Due dates were this week! Oh well, there is always next time!
